Guild Wars, questions...

There are two other sources of greens other than SF. The one is the queen in Prophet's Path in the desert sometimes drop the one green monk staff and the final bosses in the new underworld accessible off "The Dragon Lair" also drops greens. Greens are not really that rare, which is why most of them are now fairly cheap.

The reason I didn't mention these two places is becasue Refuge sells for nothing these days and HOH farming is way to long for very to little reward. The mission usually takes 1h30m and there's no guarantee of a drop, especially with an 8 man farming team.

Oro and FA farming are your best option for greens, but like I said before greens are completly over rated. I don't use any green weapons on my chars. They've all got Collectors items with upgrades on them.

@gkm, you talking about Kephket in Prophet's Path?

She's also a recent addition for those that didnt know. Can take a while to kill tho, if not employing a gewd tactic :p

Ye, system is indeed flooded with greens at the moment. Made 5k with 2 greens the other night. Not too bad tho

@aCe, I don't know hey, I think there are some good greens, I am switching between 2 greens on my necro (depending on focus), not using any on my warrior (maybe cause I haven't gotten any good drops ;) )

Question for all the "seasoned" Guild Wars players :)

What kind of character would you recommend to starters for playing if you don't plan on playing with friends and will only use about 1 or 2 henchmen?

I currently have a level 8 Elementalist/Warrior and it's VERY difficult. Even with a healer and fighter as henchmen I very often end up dying when faced with 3 or more foes. I'm beginning to think I should have chosen a Monk/Warrior rather?

My opinion is that the Warrior is good too start with, i had a much easier time with my warrior than my Ranger that i'm busy with :D

Mr Anderson, that's a mighty early post.

like McCrack said, choosing Monk as a secondary option to Warrior is advisable as it helps keeping yourself and others alive during skirmishes. I am going that route now with my pre-searing warrior too. :p

I would recommend an Elementalist or Warrior as first characters, depending on your play style. The other four are better when you know the game a bit. I would say for example a monk would be a fair bit harder than an Elementalist, since the monk has the same armor level but does a lot less damage.

Note, for an Elementalist, he/she does not have as much armor as a warrior, so while you might be tempted to use you the warrior skills to use a sword, rather do not. Let the fighter hench take the hits, while you use fireball etc from a safer distance. And use a fire wand to fight when your energy is low, not a sword or whatever, as I have just mentioned. For an Elementalist I find it best to put all your attribute points in only two skills, which early in the game would be fire and energy storage. Later, if you decide to become a different kind of Elementalist, then you can swap fire for something else.

The hench are there for a reason. The areas in the game are balanced to assume a full party, so if you are going to try to solo (or semi-solo), you are going to get killed. One can solo, but that often require skills you can only get very late in the game, so for now I would say for now always make sure you have a full party.

Did Sorrows Furnace for about 30 mins last night and made about 2K gold selling off the drops. No Greens or Golds but plenty purple's, think it's gonna be my new hang out spot :D

Now if only i could get my Warrior too survive longer. Reckon i need those Superior Absorbtion Runes ......

EDIT: And that Glow in the Dark Storm Bow still eludes me

for a warrior... are weapons best according to your taste or are generaly hammers better than swords or viceversa?

still trying to see which one i should choose for my warrior when i crossover... its easy enough to select between the two and change skills in town, but having read a lot about different builds i am unsure which one to follow now.

Builds ..... ooi

It was suggested i use a particular build last night, with that "build" my warrior got mauled, so i went back to my standard "build" and did much better.

@useless, i got a nice Gold Hammer laying in my storage if ya want.

EDIT: Anyone know of a Mesmer Skill that can clear any conditions being suffered?

hey McCrack... i would gladly buy it. :)

will try to catch you tonight if possible.

is having a shield really that important for a swordsman?

Well Shields do add to Armour so i guess they play a big role.

Dont worry about buying it, it's yours, not sure you can use it straight outta Pre though, probs has a Hammer Mastery of 8 or 9.

We're supposed to share stuff with Guild Members :D

PS. Hammer in mint condition, never used

lol... in mint condition... no bloodstains from Charr or Minotaurs i guess?

what weapon do you mostly use for your warrior btw? or you only have the new ranger atm?

The Warrior is still around. Using a Gold Sword i picked up on the Isle of Fire, def not the best but i'll get stats later on it :D

Off hand i think it's 15-22 Damage +20% Custom +20% Longer Bleeding

The Warrior i'm using for Farming now, hopefully to find some nice stuff for my Ranger.

hehe ..... bloodstains.....
