Hair

My wifes a hair stylist:

Best is too go to a hairsalon and buy shampoo directly from them. Avoid expensive moffie brands like Paul Mitchell / Revlon. You can get big BioSensce 1L bottles for about R100 that work wonders ~ we use it at home. (Supermarket shampoo is not in the same league regardless of those Tresimee ads say)

You'll also need some protein feed - not the TV stuff. Worth having it done in a hair salon else you can buy a bottle from them for R20-R30.

Curly hair is less likely to develop split ends, but you'll need to still have your mop trimmed every now and then.

Oh, and hair is dead material so once you get knots and split ends nothing can repair it. Thats why protein feeds take a few months to be beneficial as it works more on your new hair growth than your existing.

Thanks, but hairsalon's make me nervous. I don't like people touching my hair really...

You or your hair? I'm also almost 30, and mines going fast....

Me. My hair is fine, but the hair line have moved a bit since the last couple of years and when my hair is really short its quite sparse on top. Blegh. And the grey hair... I kind of like it other people point out and go "Oh noes you have grey hair" and I'm like "Better believe it baby, I'm sophisticated now" and they go like "ooooh I wanna sucks you off so goood" and then they find out what my name is and they're like "But I read on the inner-net"... wait no, thats from Jay and Silent Bob... sorry

So my hair is about just under my shoulders, but it curls so when I wash & conditions it still looks shortish and much more handsome than David Hasselhoff in the 80's

Now I have this odd problem. Well not odd, I saw it in my sisters hair when it's long etc. She gets little knots in her hair or what not. I do too. They're bitches.

I usually just grab it where it is and pull hard to break it off. Hurts a bit but I'm a man so it's okay I'm used to pain.

How do you guys and gals handle your long hair? Do I have to comb it everytime I go to bed or something?

Comb + Curly hair = Super curly hair

So yea... how do you manage this. I didn't grow up with a vag so I wouldn't know

Is the mullet back in fashion?

Get a GHD flat-iron if you can afford it R2000 or so, or you can get a decent one at a supermarket or clicks/dischem for between R200 & R300, but stay away from Babyliss or Carmen. Try Braun, Toni & Guy (love mine) or Vidal Sassoon.

Otherwise if your hair is in really tight curls, go to sleep with it in a tight braid/plait with a tiny amount of condish - trust me. When you undo it in the morning your hair will be in loose waves with no frizz, rather than a permy curl. You can also put it in a tight bun like a ballet bun & the same slight wave effect will be there in the morning. Again this only applies if the hair is super curly. The braid & the bun effectively stretch out the curls.

I won't know if it's super curly, maybe I should post a pic. To me it's super curly but it's not like a perm or tight curls or whatever.

think of that lady in that add with the curls, she stretches it out and then it bounces and they're like "omg this shampoo RRRROOOOCKS"

Curls like that

Mine's natural though and not that fabricated "I have to have a curler in my hair to get these curls" thing

Just get a number 1 and you save 10 minutes a day.

I have wavy hair. Not curly but you can buy detangle spray. I brush my hair when i have the conditioner on. then i rinse and i try not to rub my hair dry it tangles if i do it like that. Then comb it gently before i start drying.

And when you brush start from the tips to the roots that way the knots brush out easier without breaking it. (First the tips then a bit up then more then more)

But i think the hair stuff for curly hair should help a lot.

Now i'm green with envy:o

And i do not know how it smells but johnsons have stuff they call "No more Tangles"

I must agree with cbrunsdonza get that shampoo even if you don't go there to have your hair cut just ask them for shampoo...

hmm... i am a hobbit cause of this bush of hair i have although i used to HATE my hair i am actually now getting used to it, i must just get myself a straightner to get it straight and so i can get different styles.

I have straight hair so I can't help you with the curly hair Q's :D but I get tangles so I'll help out there! VO5 have this awesome product called "Miracle Mist." It's a spray in leave in Detangler. Super cheap too, like R30. I use it all the time.

So do as Blu says- brush your hair at least twice a day to keep unneccessary tangles away. Shampoo and condition as normal (always make sure you rinse the conditioner out properly-most people don't do this). Then towel try your hair- as in squeeze it with a towel, don't rub your hair with it otherwise it'll break your hair and make it all frizzy.
Then spray about 2/3 squirts of the VO5 in your hair, brush it with a wide toothed comb (less breakage) and you shouldn't have too many tangles.

Or you could just shave it off...much easier lol :D

I have those wide tooth ones people use with a hair dry thingy, sure that will work. Will check out for V05, seems like the way to go.

And I do dry my hair by "blotting" it and then letting it just drip dry. It has a better effect on my curls ;) And I look stunning doll...

*checks the time*

Nope, Oprah isn't on yet.

FFS, why did they have to take off Spongebob?!!
