The single biggest factor that holds Africa back is Afro pessimism. The type of thing you read so often on this forum. This is what stops investment and development flowing into Africa. It's a self fulfilling prophecy. The sooner the type of "Africa is doomed !" sentiment lifts you will see things start to change here. It's a pity so few South Africans seem interested in seeing their country succeed and would rather play the "told you so" game.

So Afro pessimism is too blame, and not the incompetence of the African? That sounds so familiar....Malema, is that you ?
Theres a reason Afro-Pessimism exists, and I promise you it wasn't just derived out of thin air or propoganda by the Imperial Colonists.


Africa can sit and blame the colonist's as much as they want while eating those vile western pigs foreign aid at the same time,The writing is on the wall.Afica's intents are clear as daylight,get out now before they take back what is rightfully theirs, what they are "Entitled" to.

Just look at reports from missonaries, explorers etc. It was very much a clan mentality where they butcher each other every other weekend. The thing is not much has changed in africa, these okes still steal cattle across the lesotho border and have the odd altercation. in other parts of Africa it's far worse and you are not a man until you've killed another man from an opposing clan a days walk away, only now they have AK-47's. In certain instances the scale of death is massive, Sudan, Congo etc, granted we seem to have progressed a bit down south. Who do you think killed off all the Khoi-San that lived as far east as KZN?

If africa has indeed been so great prior to the evil settlers what contributions has it made in fields of science, astronomy, mathematics, medicine & literature compared to the middle east, asia & europe across the same time frame? Exclude Egypt for obvious reasons.

The abusive history of the Zulus is well documented. Why do you think one assegai wielding tribe so easily caused havoc in Africa ?

Travel to the rural parts of the Transkei etc today. You will find people not living much differently to 200 years ago until recently when the government gave them western housing and electricity. But in the 80's and 90's I went there often and found the most peace loving , friendly, happy people with a rich culture of respect and dignity. Not all of it is easy for the western sensibility to assimilate. Labola and ancestor worship etc. But none of it intrinsically dark or evil. People who lived and loved and cared for each other. Good people. I think this is pretty much the way Africa existed for centuries. But if your imagination wants to paint it as all about blood and rape, then again feel free to be victim to your own indoctrination and prejudices.

Transkei is not exactly a safe place as you make it out to be, just ask the people going for a fishing weekends etc. Then there are the warnings to tourists about travelling in the former independent homelands.
