How many times have the ABs performed the alternative haka. How many times against each of the teams they have performed it against?

I still can't believe they changed the Haka. What is the point of a war dance if you can't tell the opposition what you are going to do to them. No wonder they can't beat the Boks anymore.

I used to be awed by it...now it just annoys me. Unless it's made a spectacle of like the French did at the world cup it's just boring. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzMTr3pNo-E[/ame]

the real reason i ask is that it seems to me (and I hardly watch the ABs outside of the 3N) that they do the alternative mostly against the boks. i was wondering whether there are stats to prove my suspicion.

i find that these days the haka is not as intimidating as it was in the 90s for instance. the fact they no longer jump at the end ads to it. also them seemingly standing in a haphazard manner doesn't do it for me. bring back the semi-circle lead by tuigamala for me.

this is the one they do against us, without the throat cut

Id take the Haka over Waltzing Matilda anyday..I just wish that people wouldnt boo the Haka, just respect it..

Then again i doubt anyone would be impressed if we did a zulu dance..LOL

Its a tradition, IMO its great when done right.

//Wonders how hard he will laugh when Bakkies does a Zulu dance or Beast sakkie sakkies :D

in the older haka's i think if i had to stand and watch that i would definatly be intimidated to say the least but when those guys did it they put all their heart into and they looked like they meant everything now it just looks like they doing it because of tradition

When we will get our zulu dance dammit!!!!!!!!! we are the best in the world and need a "haka" :D

The scariest thing on that field is Sébastien Chabal :D

Bakkies vs Chabal, that would be fun to watch :D

Seems even sillier translated:

Leader: Ringa pakia! (Slap the hands against the thighs!)
Uma tiraha! (Puff out the chest.)
Turi whatia! (Bend the knees!)
Hope whai ake! (Let the hip follow!)
Waewae takahia kia kino! (Stamp the feet as hard as you can!)

Leader: Ka mate, ka mate ('I die, I die,)
Team: Ka ora' Ka ora' ('I live, 'I live,)
Leader: Ka mate, ka mate ('I die, 'I die)
Team: Ka ora Ka ora " ('I live, 'I live,)
All:
Tēnei te tangata pūhuruhuru (This is the hairy man)
Nāna i tiki mai whakawhiti te rā (...Who caused the sun to shine again for me)
Upane... Upane (Up the ladder, Up the ladder)
Upane Kaupane" (Up to the top)
Whiti te rā,! (The sun shines!)
Hī! Rise!

Not as bad as Waltzing Matilda though...heck, come to think of it, every rugby 'anthem' sucks. Shosholoza translated is irrelevant to sport unless you understand the metaphor behind it, Swing Low Sweet Chariot is an old slave song from America..... :p
