Halaal restaurants

Am in PE most of next week. Am looking for Halal restaurants, bucheries (Braai) and takeaways.

Any other PE advice would be great

Halal butcheries are few and far between, mostly in the coloured suburbs. Gelvandale has 3

1. Shafiz Butchery - https://g.co/kgs/T01pXR (two doors away from the roadhouse)

2. Manans Butchery - http://www.muslimpages.co.za/butchery/manans-butchery-708.html

3. Beverly Butchery - https://g.co/kgs/xlQZmK (photo is incorrect, it's behind the clinic in the corner just left of the Doctors surgery)

West end has 1

1. Rockys Butchery - https://g.co/kgs/HkOmll (most popular)

Korsten has a few but i hate the area so never really go there except to Delhi snacks (see restaurants below)

1. Perelsons Butchery - http://www.muslimpages.co.za/retail/perelsons-butchery-469.html

You can also go to Gelvandale or Beetlestone road Spar. Both sell Halal meat (beetlestone has a special section for non Halal meat)

Restaurants aren't that great but there are a few, you can google them they are quite well known

1. Cape Town fish market (Walmer, Halal but serves alcohol)
2. Raasoie (Indian restaurant in Humewood, halal but serves alcohol)
3. La Fiesta (Humewood, right next door to Raasoie)
4. Mariam's Kitchen (Newton Park)
5. Mochachos (The Boardwalk, Summerstrand)
6. This is eat (seafood takeaway at the Harbor)
7. Delhi snacks (Korsten, takeaway only general fast food rotis, burgers, curries)
8. Mr Chows (Gelvandale only, Chinese takeaways)
9. Debonairs (Gelvandale only)
10. Jimmys Killer Prawns (Baywest shopping mall)
11. Cafe Dulce (Mercantile Hospital, weird place to have it I know)
12. South Boulevard Cafe (opposite the road from the Mosque you went to the last time you were in PE. Just google the South End Museum, same building)

That's just from the top of my head there probably are a few more but I generally don't bother with takeouts. I'm hard to satisfy with food quality.

Yeah. Beach and swimming pool and chill. Might go to Jeffery's bay one day also.

You based in PE?

Take a drive to Van Stadens river mouth. Pay per car for the day. Sand dunes, paddle boats on the river, beach as well. Nice braai area for the day out with the kids. Take your own braai grid with you.

Lol. If you have time to meet up for a coffee or a meal with the family, I would not be averse to that.

Will speak to the wife, she fears people of the internets (watches too many documentaries) .

Don't be cheap, people in PE have no money, we are dependent on the Joburg and Kingdom of the Western Cape's economic buying power to survive.

Lol. KFC then? Am scared of running fowl of the Majlis though!!

Tell her my wife and son are harmless. And she keeps me on a tight leash when I am not on the internet.

Your wife knows you're on the internet?

But I highly recommend going to Van Stadens to braai if all you need is the beach and some food. We had some fun times braaing and arguing over the rules of 30 seconds. PS never play board games on opposite teams with your wife, you will regret it.

Will definitely go to Van Stadens if we get the chance. We are simple like that.

Quite a few "why in the world are you going to PE?" questions I get. For us it's a time out from everything...so shopping and stuff like that is secondary

At least you don't get the "why in the world do you live in PE?" question. Oh yes there is a Game Center and cinema at the Boardwalk Casino on the beach front with Tenpin bowling as well, will be nice for your son. If I think of anything else I'll PM you.

Edit: last one, seeing as you have a hired car. Go to Seaview game park (drive your own car on a dirt road). On a good day you'll get to see some animals up close.

Always intend showing kids the place but CT always gets priority. But soon PE shall see us
