Halaal restaurants

What would be the best type of steak to get at Calisto's Rosebank?
I believe it's quite tasty.
 
Any new places in jhb?

Thinking of going to rooftop or ozzyz later today/evening. Haven't been to either. Any other suggestions?
 
@rodga.. Cool.. It's south Indian food.. If you like fried fish, it's lovely and the chops special is very nice

@isie...yep they definitely open, quiet busy place , if you not one for south Indian curries you won't like it.

My experience it wasn't bad or anything it just wasn't anything to write home about the way people rave about it.
Maybe i went on a bad day :wtf:
 
Flames at the westcliff is Halal friendly amazing steak including wagyu beef.

47 on grant is a great place also. Fully halal.

Rocamamas in Melrose arch

That's about it
 
Ah, so since we have enough halal places around don't think one should eat there.

Ozzy is over hyped I think food not bad but nothing to rave about, service is absolutely crap
 
Halaal friendly is not actually a good thing at all. Contamination chances of having alcohol and food in same area are very high.

Ozzys has very good peri peri mozambicuqan chicken. I love that.

Also anyone know places in cape town besids woodies?

Hygiene standards at a lot of halaal establishments are naff. I think the chances of bacterial contaminants are significantly higher than for a lot of halaal friendly places. That's just my opinion though
 
Separate issues, we not talking about bacterial contamination (which is possible in most if not all places). Again if there is doubt (which they definitely is) then it should be avoided as there are many halal owned and certified restaurants alhamdullilah.

Let's not "mince" words here guys if it's Pakistani owned you need to question the hygene.
I'm not saying all Pakistani restaurants are bad but I've heard horror stories over the years. Your choice to go to right one.

The new look United Butchery is quite amazing and their prices are very good. There's even a new KFC that opened up next door.
