All this talk of hand luggage, I wondered just what everyone takes on a flight? That's bag(s) and stuff.

I do a lot of long haul and I prefer just a single backpack with essentials.

I carry....
  • 14" work laptop
  • my own Macbook Air
  • A5 notebook and pen/pencil
  • T-shirt, boxers and socks
  • a K-way puffer jacket in its pouch
  • Sony WH-1000XM4 ANC headphones
  • Apple Airpods Pro 2
  • Power bank with wireless charging
  • 65W travel adaptor, USB-A, USB-A to C cables
  • Blister packs of Panado and Rennies
  • small pack of wet wipes
  • a couple of small bags of nuts
  • Spare spectacles in a case
  • 2 x 50ml Three Ships whisky bottles
This is the current bag and it is probably the best one I've ever had apart from the lack of a strap to hook over your suitcase handle.

So if you can't be bothered with the list, what bag do you carry? Always looking for a better one...

If I'm skipping the check bag, then I will fit all my clothes, toothbrush, vials of sunblock etc. into a backpack. Laptop goes into a hard case and into the backpack.

If I have a check bag, then only valuables in my carry-on (laptop, sunglasses, airpods).

Always a paperback book.

In the past I have bought those triple sets (Daddy, Mommy and Baby), only used the smallest one, packed it with everything that I need including clothes inside. Far better to travel light, skip the rotunda queue, and they cannot lose your luggage.

Depends on for how long we are traveling and if I need a laptop. Usually I only have my kindle and headset with me in flight.

Either this

When the wife is travelling with there is always a check in bag :( so I just add some stuff to her bag if I need extra space.

Can u carry alcohol bottles in the carry on ?
I had a bottle of water and they asked me to get rid of it at the airport.
I just want to carry like three drinks on me to help me sleep on the flight.

Buy it at the duty free. Or just get proper drunk in the lounge before boarding.

That I am going to do, but if I sober up mid flight I need something for backup.
Also last time I got drunk in the lounge, I had to pee so badly but the fasten seat belt sign won't go off... I sobered up because of the struggle

I like those duffel bag type bags for carry on luggage.
Really just for my admin stuff - travel docs, change of clothes, book or kindle, headphones, pen for those border control forms.
Unless it's a work trip I never take any laptops, iPad maybe.
They're soft and flexible so I can squeeze it into tight spaces, easy to carry while dragging my check in luggage around. I also try leave space inside for anything I might buy at the airport.

Plus I just think they look all cool.

Liquids need to be below 100ml unless duty free. But you can't open duty free until you get to the other side and clear customs.

So I carry either 2 or 4 of the 50ml whisky plastic miniatures in a side pocket as I've often got a few hours over in a hotel between flights and they help with the snoozing.

Lol. But on the flight just ask the cabin crew. No need to tuck into your own stuff.

I have the same one and it has a strap to go over your suitcase handle. It is beneath the straps.

My next bag will be a Tumi. They look amazing. Just a bit expensive.

Wenger Ibex is similar to what your using but perhaps a bit larger - takes a 17inch laptop

I'm on this page too. I used to do the backpack thing (still do for day/overnight trips) but far prefer my hard case American Tourister with wheels (thanks eBucks). The multidirectional wheels are fantastic.

If you're committed to the backpack, there's always the LTT bag.

Fly Air France. Champagne and unlimited Cognac.

Not a single firearm discharge in this thread. Disappointing.

Never had, will need to check them out. But this Everki is the best I’ve had so far.

I had a very similar no name from Amazon that my son stole for a school bag. He’s still using it.
