Hans Wencke was born in South Africa and raised in a German home. After graduating from the Cape Technikon in 1996 with a B-Tech in Human Resource Management, Hans started his career as a HR practitioner at Consol Glass. He left the company after two years and joined Key Recruitment before co-founding Hetzner SA in 1999 with his brother-in-law, Martin Hetzner.
Under his leadership Hetzner has grown to be the largest specialist web hosting provider in South Africa and MEA (Middle East & Africa), hosting over 140 000 domains on its network. The company differentiates itself through service delivery, its efficient business model and uncompromising focus.
