It's easy to run to Forums and bad mouth a service provider when something is wrong but when that same service provider goes out of their way to help you only a handful of customers comes back and give them the Thank You they deserve.

I'm one of those that only complains on Forums, but today I must say......

Thank You Cell C and especially Thapelo and David for helping me. I told my friends about the service I got from CellC and they tried it with the Service Providers with no luck.

Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Best Regards

Marius

Must admit I've been a contract customer for 2 years with them and setup and connect was painless.

Only issue I have with Cell C is their coverage in the south of Jhb. Alberton and surrounding areas are hit-or-miss with Cell C's coverage.

I also was a happy client until about 18 months ago.
New tower installed, all towers upgraded and then my trouble start.

Towers are now so overloaded that I am most of the time sitting on the edge of the signal with either slow throughput or no throughput at all.
For 18 months they have tried to solve the problem, most of the time it is touch and go.
Now they come up that I have to get a pointing antenna.
This is not because of me, but because of them for overloading the towers.
Places with very bad service:
Auckland Park - Most of the time no signal.
Melville - Very poor signal.
Triomf - Most of the time no signal.
Flora Glen - Poor signal.
Bergbron - don't even dare to use Cell-C there.
Greymont - To low for any signal.
Albertville - Touch and Go.
Northcliff Corner - Poor signal.
Northcliff - Overload of all towers.
Cresta - A total no-no. Not even they shop in centre can get a proper signal. Drop calls all the time
Linden - Not much better.

So what was the use to install a new tower to aleviate the congestion and to upgrade the tower but most of the time you get nothing.
Most of the time I don't get any call due to bad network.
Hour or more later I get messages of missed calls.
Sms's sometime 4 days late.

Unofficial CellC rating. Cleverly devised on average number of issues (call drop, bad quality, call setup failure etc.) for every 10 conversations and based on 10+yrs customer experience:

JHB North is 1/10,
Cape Town is 6/10,
Port Elizabeth 8/10,
East London 8/10

I have to agree with account related adjustments and service changes and stuff like that Thapelo is a pretty awesome guy to deal with. He knows what he is doing and when he says I will phone you back he does phone back. You can get hold of him via Facebook inbox to Cellc. He will sort you out in a jiffy.

The only problem they can't seem to fix is coverage problems.

He's one of your employees... find him and reward him! :p

I'm staying in Malmesbury (Cape Town) area and experienced also faulty tower problems with one of our towers, but I reported it and a week later Ashley Phoned me from CellC and came out to test the tower......must admit now it was my settings on my phone at the end of the day that was the problem, but they did admit that there was a problem that Tuesday.

Don't get me wrong guys.....I had lots of problems with CellC in the past, but I don't phone them on the Help Line anymore. I use this forum (PM and not broadcasting it) to complain and it gets fixed. :-)
