Hard drive advice - Sasmsung spinpoint 1tb

I need a new 1tb hard drive as my seagate 1 tb started clicking:

Needless to say - I'll never go for seagate again - that's drive number 7 that we have had go down - different locations as well.

Was looking at Samsung spin-point 1tb for R752
Western digital is R234 more expensive.

Looking for a drive with little power consumption and reliable.

For R752 thats not bad - sending the seagate back to Rectron for replacement yet again, what's up with Seagate nowadays?

I have had a 500gb, 750gb and now a terrabit drive all crash!!

I still have pre 500gb western digitals running like forever without hassles?

Western Digital is the one to get.....you get what you pay for.

Can't blame Seagate... I have like... 8, none give me problems, however, I expect one to go, it's a mechanical device... it happens.

All brands have failures, it's just reality for mechanical devices. I swore by Seagate even after I lost a 160Gb 2 years ago. After the 7200.11 firmware disaster, I got a 1TB Samsung F1 and then a few months later got a 1TB Seagate 7200.12. Both are still working fine (touch wood!)

Western Digital FTW - no issues with any of mine - they are really solid drives.
I gave up on my Samsung 1TB's after my 5th return of two new drives - replaced them with WD's...

I got both a seagate and a samsung.. both running just great.. had a burn-out on the seagate but their warranty is outstanding, replaced in 2 weeks no questions asked so they are still champs in my eyes.
