Hard Drive Noises

So my hard drive, when spinning makes a grinding/buzzing noise that comes and goes continuously (almost like a bust fan or a fan with a wire touching the blades). Is it effed/buggered/one-foot-in-the-grave/on-meltdown? Its a 5 year old seagate 2TB. Anyway that I can fix it if it is going to be pushing up the daisies soon?

Best is to get another drive and copy everything. Then use the old drive as a temporary drive.

have you tried opening it up? Add some Q20 to the main motor, and especially to the big silver disks.
