Hard Lump in groin area

It seems as though I've got a hard "lump" in my groin area to the right... It seems to be a lymph node, but I'm not to sure. It's slightly painful and about 1-2cm big... it's also under the skin (in the tissue under the skin).
No discolouration and I'm not feeling skin, although I have been suffering from slight blockage in my nose. I only noticed it today, and I don't think it would have gone undetected for longer then a week.

Should I be worried, could it be cancerous???

well thank you for your constructive criticism... If I wanted to mention anything to do with my testicles I would have said "a lump in my scrotum"

But to clarify any misconceptions, It's to the right of my upper groin about 10 cm lower then my Umbilicus, so I'm not talking about my genitals.

Turn your head to the left and feel the major lymph node on the right side of your neck. Also, feel the two lymph node behind your head above your neck. If they are all swollen, you merely have the EPV aka glandular fever. Nothing to worry about.
