Shrug, no idea. Haven't seen a TAL voucher for years. You never mentioned it in the previous post. I'm sure you're right, but that's not gonna stop me taking advantage of the good prices when they come around.
Check the takealot thread.....
I am just annoyed because I was saving the vouchers for payday,I should have used them immediately.

Who cares? Something's either a good deal or it's not. If you don't know what the normal going rate is, and you don't like the look of the "special" price, just don't buy it.
I've found loads of really good specials on TAL, and I've also passed on many that "looked" cheap but I knew were not. Common sense.
Honestly every single thing I've looked at lately they either don't have or it's more expensive. TAL has gone down the drain which was bound to happen with their model. The reason people keep asking for vouchers is because you need one to shop there.

I'm well aware of the don't buy it if it's not a good deal and I've said this in the past, but in relation to them claiming the regular price is more than it really is. But selling something on special for more than the regular price, that's not on.

That's actually been the opposite of my experience. Over the past ~1year, most of what I've wanted to buy online has been cheapest on Takealot. Maybe I've just been lucky though. I've bought hard drives, NICs, ethernet cables, power cables, SD cards, batteries for cameras. Haven't been able to find anyone else that sells them cheaper than TAL at the time I needed them.

Well I've looked at things like grfx cards, PSUs etc. Always like R100+ more than Loot or Raru for the stuff they stock as well. Small stuff I guess they may be cheaper on some but not really enough for me to justify the delivery cost or threshold.

This has been my experience too. When they are more expensive, it's usually by very little, and the extra convenience of next-day delivery etc is usually worth the 100 bucks or so extra.

YMMV as with everything I guess. I find if it's not urgent and you're prepared to wait, you'll eventually get it cheaper on TAL. Of course, that's because they employ people to continuously do price comparisons with online and offline retailers.

Also - eBucks. Loot no longer accepts them. This makes a huge difference. Takealot accepts ebucks and they sell everything.

You should have called them. I did and they sent me a new voucher which expires on the 15 Sept.

I think I broke the Takealot algorithm.

Saw this rail kit on Daily Deals the other day, looked suspiciously cheap so I picked it up. Checked later that these normally sell for around R2k at other places. Clearly was marked incorrectly and the sale went through and I picked them up this morning. Looks like they may have to compensate for that loss now with the next sucker :D

I had a similar experience with pet goodies. Bought doggy snacks which normally cost R80 for R1 each. I took advantage and bought all 8 of the packets they had in stock.

I bought espresto DG adapters at x R3 yet normal price R95 each before and after.

So genuine bargains do occur.

Looking for a decent set of Bluetooth headphones, takealot has the Sennheiser BT 4.40 and 4.50 on sale, good deal? Or something better available? Also ANC worth the extra R900, or are there more differences between them?

Wondering the same thing. Checked some reviews and I'm leaning towards the 4.40 - as I don't really need ANC. Would be nice to hear from someone who owns them though.
