Wow that escalated quickly. SSD pricing has gotten a bit hectic a 40% increase and that was before you factor in the currency drop :-(. The one 500GB WD blue I paid R949 in July last year is now R1700.
 
Looks like Evetech started to clear backlog. Got a notification that my parcel is with aramex.

Just a heads up: you do know that SD cards are exceptionally unreliable? Rather get a smaller size, save some bucks, but with the added annoyance with having to back up every now and then. These things have a finite number of writes and unless you're recording 4k videos daily, it's very likely to faiil before you'll even reach half of it's claimed storage capacity.

Been using the Sandisk ones in my security cams and dashcam for over a year now.. They obviously record constantly and so far no failure (touch wood). I'm not too sure about other brands though.

About right, I placed an order on the 28th of April, payment was updated the same day and item arrived today. Delivery to JHB was next day after pickup yesterday.

Overall cant complain I guess, just happy it all arrived in a reasonable time.
 
Hi guys, please helpnme find a well priced ipad, 10 or 11 inch, newer version the better. Not.worried about LTE.
 
The price of SSD's now from TA are crazy.
This isn't brand new technology ffs.

It's currently close to double the price I paid not so long ago.

I'm assuming ( and trust, rather cynically I might be add) it's the dollar exchange rate , domestic shipping, international freight, etc solely to blame..but even taking a healthy 30% recent depreciation in the Rand into account these guys are effin price gouging and taking advantage of their loss of sales during lockdown to recoup.

I paid R479/ R1,199 respectively for the 2.5" WD 240GB Green / 500GB Blue (1 year / 6 months ago) from TA.

How many other popular products are they doing this with?!!! Bloody Crooks!

Yeah I noticed that as well, they did say there might be a 40% increase in nand tech which would explain some of the increase. But from R949 to R1700 for a 500GB is ridiculous in a year and I wanted to get a 1tb that's also gone up almost a grand
 
Been at Payment received since Wednesday, now I'm wondering when I'll ever get my monitor from Evetech. I mean if this was takealot or wootware I'd already have it.
 
Of everything that is delivery delayed it must be the motherboard... ‍can’t even start the build...

Hopefully it doesn’t mean payment received, awaiting stock from China at Level 1...
