No idea on the chipset. No voice prompts or beeps - the only indication of interaction is via led. I have not done much testing - just connected to my win10 laptop and a spare set of Kenwood speakers (6Ohm 40W) and very happy with the result. This unit is made in China

The best bluetooth receivers use the CSR/Qualcomm chips. The sound quality from these chips is usually a lot better than from most of the other Bluetooth receivers that I have heard. Logitech and Ugreen use the CSR/Qualcomm chips in their products which produce some of the best Bluetooth sound available.

Takealot and Loot don't appear to be selling these versions any more. Qualcomm owns the aptX patents.

Nakamichi appears to use CSR/Qualcomm devices in some of their products so I would guess they use them in that Bluetooth module as well.

The amplifier provides for 5 inputs (4 bluetooth pairings and 1 aux input - 3.5mm stereo). Outputs to two sets of speakers and one variable analog output - also 3.5mm stereo

How does the sound compare against the much more expensive Edifier bookshelf speakers that I think you bought several weeks ago?

I should have gotten one to play with. Zero online manual didn't help finding out all the specs :(

Less powerful, seems to lack bass, sound is not as "rich" (could be related to my speakers).
That all being said it is quite good for a kitchen setup.

I was looking at this. Looks nifty. Why would one want 4 Bluetooth sources at the same time? So that you don't have to re-pair each device whenever you want to have this thing connect to it?

And what's with the outputs being 4 speakers, rather than 2 (stereo) or 5 (surround)?

I've just never encountered something like this before, so these are genuine questions...

Something like this is perfect for a braai room.

Still a bit confused as to how exactly it work as there are no clear pictures of the unit. So you can connect up to 4 x 10W speakers?

Power it and send music via Bluetooth?

Does it have a volume button?
