Even last year at $13-14 there was some good deals locally and on Amazon

You're right dude.

I went looking for bargains on amazon and after factoring the exchange rate and shipping, it was slightly cheaper to buy locally.

I remember way back when nVidia just debuted their cutting-edge 8800-series of graphics cards and it came in at an eye-watering R6000 ex vat for the top end model.

What's a GTX 4090 cost nowadays? Close on R50k?

That isn't related to the exchange rate though, GFX cards are just more expensive

All things considered though, it's still a lot of dosh. I bought my GTX1070 brand new in 2017 for R6k which was an absolute steal no matter how you slice things. Of course, the crypto folks weren't helping that cause.

Same issue the RRP for the 1070 was $379, the RTX series really pushed the price of cards up.

I see they have some decently priced ergo chairs and I found a little too-good of a deal so probably a pricing error or they are just a shell company XD

Edit: This site seems to have like 20 problems
