Is the whole Di Novo thing a price mess up or do they honestly sell this KB for R1599 that they actually cost them R299 or less at cost??
 
Cost is much higher than R299 at the distributors. No idea why they've put this up for sale so low. It was probably a bad seller and they decided to get rid of stock or it's a sacrificial product to get people through the door.

Cost at the distributor ofcourse is still well less than R1599, but well above R299. Some distributors still waiting stock last I checked (December).

So your guess is as good as mine. Either they got real cheap deal directly, or it wasn't selling or they wanted people in the door.

Nah, I am sure I will. Every unit brand do have some failures. It's just the hassle of taking the unit to "agents" that bothers me. Some frightened the hell out of me. You never know where they poke there fingers or whatever et al. I would have prefered to hand it to Samsung direct and the rest is their baby. They could do as they please as long as I get a working unit back in same condition under warrantee.

i had a peek at incredibles system when they were checking stock for me
their cost price on the system was R269 iirc
no idea wats the deal with these kb's tho, maybe they bought a batch at that price??
 
Daaaaamnnn!!! Perhaps this is why the likes of Frontosa were still indicating the keyboards were on the way ... IC bought the whole lot?

There were 5 stickers on the diNovo kb I bought from R1599 downto R299. So they must have had it for a while. I reckon they just weren't moving the stock. On the other hand, you can pick these up for about $50 in the US, so R269 wholesale is not impossible.
 
The ones I picked up from IC only had 1 sticker on, R1599, that is the only reason why there were still some left :D

I don't know who would pay R1599 for it though, madness if you ask me.

But R299.95 less 14% is R263.11, so selling at a loss. Assuming cost + VAT + profit.
 
R269 less 14% = R235.96 ... perhaps the value shown was cost + VAT.

It's not only IC who rip people so badly. Ever seen the price on a car window compared to what they charge you? Last paid R1500 for a side window for my old Audi. Leaned over the desk and saw a R160 cost price.

Well if someone would post some bargains for me to go and blow my money on, I wouldn't have to resort to such measures!!
 
Perhaps he was trying to advertise a good deal he saw at an online university, where he most likely got his degree.

Btw, was that the title of his thesis?
