I tried. Just got shot down. The law is in the favor of the retailer. They do it constantly and blatantly! They never seem to care or do anything about it! They like the idea that people come to their stores on false advertising. I never buy from them anymore after the bad experience I had with their false advertising (twice now).

+1 not worth buying from them. Tried too get them to give the Lumia at the advertised price, but got shot down. So now I'm submitting a complaint to ASA and then I'm getting a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 from TelkomMobile. This isn't about the price anymore, but more about them not honoring their advertisements. Then again, they never communicated the revised pricing, did they?

Where have you seen it for 399 or less? Cheapest I could find was HI-Fi corp at 499.

Bought it at CNA for R299. Edgars lists it at R399 - last time I saw (about 2 months ago).

R699 though is not the listed price, as IC would have us believe. Check out CNA - I am sure they are R399 at the moment

Great deal, as long as takers are aware that this is in effect an obsolete product, having been replaced about four months ago by the far better (but more expensive) 2013 second-generation model -- which is nearly double this 2012 model's price in SA.

It absolutely appealed to me! I just didn't want to put it on my credit card. Would mess up the budget

As for the Crucial - I've only seen good reviews about them Stateside. Many say they might be a tad slower than the new Samsungs - but solid as a rock. When I do pull the trigger in the New Year, it will be on a Crucial M500. Nothing else.

Those prices on the 480 and especially the 960 were easily the best I've seen since I've started looking, which was what had me fight with myself not to buy! I'm trying to console myself with the knowledge that SSD prices can surely only come down... right?
