I normally search for items I want and then just tick the "amazon global shipping" checkbox which immediately shows what they will or will not ship to SA.

They can send goods via standard shipping but they won't include VAT or customs charges so you get hit much harder there then if you let Amazon sort it all out

The Samsung galaxy tab 2 15gig 3g. For 4099 at takealot. Now expired.

Is this worth it? Expired at 9pm but still, just asking...

Two questions

1. Delivered where?
2. How good is the Roku with stored media?

I only use mine with my PLEX server. It is golden and works like a dream. Best gadget I have ever bought! I am running mine on wifi and full HD tends to buffer quite a bit over my LAN. Going to run a LAN cable to the ROKU in the lounge to eliminate the buffering...

True which is why I avoid it completely.

THIS

Amazon sent me my Roku 3 direct to my door in 2 weeks with all customs charges settled....

Conversely, I have been trying to get a Samsung TAB 3 10.1 from Amazon but they only ship them to the US. For this you need the Postbox service.

What do you mean by "customs settled"? Did you have to pay when it arrived, were you not charged at all?

During the ordering process, Amazon adds a "custom charges" amount. I paid this with my order and the item sailed through customs. When your parcel lands in SA, a courier company at ORT emails you to request your ID number for customs clearance.

When I bought headphones from Amazon about 2 months later they sent R300 back to me due to their estimated custom charges being higher than what customs charged.

Same here. Have had them refund me twice.
