Hardware Bargains

PCint normal prices are about the same as zones.co.za specials tho....not a lot of difference between them tbh.

My two 1TB drives arrived from Kalahari today - I'll order another 2 if the special is still on...real bargain! :D

Do we have any impressions of Nivo? I see they generally have good prices - i.e. 2k for p2350 and they ship with reasonable rates.

I am not sure they could handle the service aspects of online shopping, tbh.

Plus they clearly don't favour credit card transactions, those prices quoted are for cold hard cash, literally. They whack on 10%, yes 10% if you whip out the plastic.

In-store service is lacking at the best of times, so who knows...

All that said if you want stuff at a good price and have no expectations of service then it's great.

It isn't actually 10%...
Paying by Credit Card on a notebook will cost you an extra R200, R100 for desktops and bigger component, R50 for other components. Many small components have no extra charge

Keep watching that space.
Perhaps it goes on special again.

Seems like the price has changed at least on two occasions.
If you're in Midrand tomorrow - go and get it from Esquire for R774 (or somewhere's around that insane price)

That's

That's the same 1TB Samsung at Esquire Midrand for R774.06 inclusive of VAT.
Cheaper then bleddy kalahari.

They only have a 1000 in stock and it's going to be packed apparently.
Only available tomorrow though.

ya, is the 300 you going to save on a drive really worth fighting the hysteria?

i've been to one of these birthday things before, ppl q like from early in the morning, theres fighting and shoving and fists, its going to be ugly and you might still come away with nothing except an adrenalin rush. I would love a drive for those prices, but is fighting the human carnage worth it?

Think I'll wait for the kalahari special again, it was only +-800, I will gladly pay the extra R70 for the convenience. Then again, I guess it would be quite fun to fight your away through the nerd pool tomorrow. You just need to throw a few free pocket protectors along the side and they'll all leave the queue. I dunno man, a cheap drive isnt that worth it....is it?

Good point...Those Esquire prices are pretty cool, though.

Wonder when some place in CT will do something like that again.
