Anyone seen good deals on the Samsung 2494HS in Cape Town shops?
 
Kalahari.net occasionally has specials on it for R2100. Digitaladdiction also has good prices sometimes.

Dion's was offering it for R1900 but i'm pretty sure that's over.

True, but on the DVI/VGA only monitor you can only connect two devices. Whereas on the other you can connect your ...let's say...Xbox/PC/PS3 or Xbox/PC/DSTV simultaneously.
 
On Kalahari.net, deal of the day, there are three hdds on sale for pretty cheap:

Western Digital 1TB Intellipower SATA 3.5" HDD: R 892.50
Seagate Barracuda Hard Disk Drives - 1 TB: R 827.86
Samsung HD103UJ 1TB 3.5" HDD: R 783.66

I bought the wd 1tb drive from Kalahari a few weeks ago when it was on the deal of the day special (Think i payed R 950). Was delivered on time and is working nicely ;)

those are good prices , heard about avoiding the seagate HDD's ...I'm inclined to go for the Samsung's due to the lower price but need to google a bit and see if the WD is perhaps the better buy.

Only their 7200.11 ones...

The new 7200.12s (and the LPs (low powers I think) are solid! :)

Cool, then you're safe.

Now, I don't know how the 7200.12 1TB compares to the Samsung 1TB. I know the Samsung 1TB is better than the 7200.11 1TB - http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/storage/2008/12/09/samsung-spinpoint-f1-1tb/7.
