lol good point... btw pczone in durbs www.zones.co.za has some pretty good bargains. selling laptops with Geforce GT 540M mobile grpahics capable running SC2 on high settings quite nicely. oh price.. R5499. (core i5, 4gb dd3, 640gb hdd, gigabit lan, 300mbits wifi, etc..

Bought that laptop last week.
Start Skyrim, click the "Ultra" button for video settings. Play game. Runs 100% fine

oh sweet!!! my bro is finishing last matric exam on thurs, i've been hunting for an awesome laptop for him and mainly went with what I saw at notebookcheck.net on the GT540M. im sure he's gonna be so stoked! shot!

Just make sure he sets it to use the nVidia graphics. I was jamming it with everything set on low as it was using the onboard intel graphics (which surprisingly ran on low with view distance turned up a bit). I was stoked it actually ran. Then i fiddled with settings, started Skyrim again and it recommended High settings. Needless to say i had a new found love with the laptop
. Its quite a bloody monster 
. Started turning up the graphics some more, eventually just hit the Ultra setting and its works great!Dett234()&&))&&65

What's the consensus on Gigabyte laptops? (They probably can't be any worse than the string of HP duds I've bought in the past)

My sister has the previous version Gigabyte Laptop. Had it for over 8 months and no problems at all so far.
