any one recommend any hard ware bargins on a wireless mouse for a desktop. Old one is packing up. Dont play games, mainly web browsing. I like quite a big mouse.

Logitech M705, it's an excellent large wireless mouse, only one I'd consider for non gaming. Without a keyboard too. ;)

Any one use the microsoft touch mouse? Thinking the touch could be really useful with windows 8.

This is the only mouse I use. Hence I recommend it. Bluetrack technology.

Would it not be best recommending it to people who want compact mouses/mice then? I think so. :)

This is a nice mouse as you can unlock the wheel for fast smooth scrolling and it has programmable buttons.

+1
Battery life is incredible (here, incredible means it last years - not hours, days, weeks or months - of daily use)

Looks cool enough. How is the tracking on various surfaces? Much like bluetrack tech? Kinda expensive though > R400.

It uses a Logitech laser, so probably the best when compared to other brands of laser mouses/mice. It particularly trounces the laser used in Cyborg RATs when it comes to tracking, which many complain about. :p

Logitech mouses/mice are known for their solid tracking. They make very good stuff indeed.

The non-center positioning of the laser on the M705 however can be a bit tricky for those that aren't used to it, because they might reach the end of their mouse pad and not realise the laser has moved slightly off. For desktop PCs I recommend Razer Goliathus Control pads, which come in various sizes (you can even cut the jumbo one in half and get 2/4 mouse pads from it).

If tracking on glass etc. :D is necessary, one would need to opt for the MX Performance with DarkField tech. I can't think of any other surfaces that a Logitech laser wouldn't tackle.

Impressive thanks. Now I just need the R400 to take one for a testdrive!

anything specific you want to mention?

A worthy mention iMO is the LG Blu-Ray writer for R796.86incl vat with 10 pck spindle of BDs , might pickup 1x as i seen these go for a grand so a big saving.

I have never seen 128GB BDXL* discs before but since it supports it, why not have it :p .

*BDXL discs are not compatible with existing BD drives though a firmware update may be available for some newer drives. from the Wiki

Will the LG support it? Want one for my HP media server.

Incredible Connection in Sandton had the Logitech Z906 5.1 Speakers for R3000.00. Decent price.
