Nope, went to watch Skyfall and just so happened that I saved R35 on the headphones :)
 
Where do i find this R1299 3tb western digital external incredible connection deal? In store or online or is it over?
Whats the cheapest i can get an internal one for now?

It was a web special on their main website as well as in store last weekend. Looks like it's not available anymore.
 
For some reason, the USB3 speed on those drives is really bad. I bought a 2.5" from the US, and I get about 30mbps faster on it than the WD one. Why is that?
 
anybody know why there are hardly ever any noteworthy bargains at Esquire? Their specials seem to be replays of the previous week, every week...
 
Pretty sure it's a bargain as I haven't seen it cheaper anywhere - but feel free to delete if not. Computer Mania currently have a special on - MSI GTX 680 2GB going for R4999.

It is USB powered. So you won't need to carry a power supply with it.
And yes it is real USB3.

OK here is a very quick first impression after I have played around with it for an hour.

The device is small, light weight and is comfortable to hold
Lots of free books
The battery will last ages because e-ink uses so little power
Touch keyboard typing is decent for an e-ink reader.
It only shows about 4 sentences on a screen so will have to press paging quite often. (font can be set smaller to fit more in)
E-Ink page refreshing can get irritating especially since you have to turn pages so often.
It has a basic browser but sites like youtube won't work. Browsing is not enjoyable but it is fine for checking gmail.

So:
This device has a very niche purpose. I would only use it to read fiction/easy reading books or if I want to read in sunlight.
Magazines and tech books I will still read on my 10" iPad. IMO a tablet even much more expensive will be a much better investment. I would only suggest the Kobo if you like reading books and dont like the lighting and weight/size of a standard tablet.

What I do like of the device when you power off the device it doesn't go blank but on the screen shows you the book cover and what percentage of the book you have read so leaving it on the bed table will always remind you what book you are reading and that you need to finish it.
