It's all X86 so yes it will be backwards compatible.

The ones I've seen aren't bad but don't expect high quality from a R3k 40" fhd TV, it's never going to happen. It's just a budget TV, probably still be cracking on 10yrs from now or not, it's a bit of a crapshoot. Go look at one if you happy with the picture quality and the warranty is 2yrs or more then I'd go for it.

I am not expecting it to be able to make coffee, just need a screen. Also looking at Game's JVC 32" FHD LED TV for R2490. But I'd rather go for 40" than 32".

Wootware has a 240GB one for R1099 if you are interested. Takealot had one for sub R1k a while back - it does not happen too often though.

That's a good drive for an upgrade from mechanical to SSD...it's going to be slightly disappointing if you're replacing an existing high-performance SSD on a desktop or laptop (high usage scenarios).

Any idea how it compares to ADATA's 550?

Not sure....I'd guess they're much of a muchness. Check which memory they use...MLC is preferable though it might be unlikely at this pricepoint. The Adata guys have gone cacheless with their recent budget drives...cheaper but slower in some scenarios.

You're not likely to see any differences between 2 drives that are priced to compete with each other.
