That's a ****load of money for a charger. :o

You're telling me!!!!

The last one I bought, (original stolen) was £20 (at the time, x12 = R240) from Amazon UK. Locally, they were R899 back then. Somehow, apple enjoys fücking their consumers and the core joins in to make it a decent three way rape. Even now, a search reveals prices from $20 (generic) to $80 (apple).

So glad I don't own a single Apple device!

Incredibles pricing is wonky.

I bought 3x Dell 24inch Monitors on Wednesday. The SE2416H ( I Think ) Online they were R 2499-00. Got to the store and they were R 1999-00. The cashier scanned it and it said R 2499-00 but they honored it and I paid R 1999-00. Went to go get one of these printers now and they all said sold out. My Girlfriend was in Stellenbosch this morning and I asked her to pop in there and they had one. They charged R 1900-00, not R 1999-00.

I dont think they know whats going on.

Please tell me if the Dell monitors are IPS or TFT?

On this Dell page it is IPS:
http://www1.la.dell.com/vc/en/corp/...tor/pd.aspx?refid=dell-se2416h-monitor&s=corp
Dell 24 Monitor | SE2416H Display
Diagonally Viewable Size: 60.5 cm 23.8 Inches (23.8-inch wide viewable image size)
Aspect Ratio: Widescreen (16:9)
Panel Type, Surface: In-plane switching, anti glare with hard coat 3H
Optimal resolution: 1920 x 1080 at 60Hz
Active Display Area (H x V): 20.75" x 11.67" (527.04 mm x 296.46 mm)

But the user guide from Dell on page 6 states that it is TFT:
ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-prod...y/dell-se2416h-monitor_User's Guide_en-us.pdf
Product features
The Dell SE2416H/SE2416HX flat panel display has an active matrix, Thin-Film Transistor (TFT), Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), anti-static, and LED backlight. The monitor features include:
∞∞SE2416H/SE2416HX: 60.47 cm (23.8 inch) viewable area display (measured diagonally). 1920 x 1080 resolution, plus full-screen support for lower resolutions.

Which of the two is it?

Great! thanks!

Ok on further search I discovered that a TFT panel can be IPS or TN - therefore the manual and the product page do not contradict each other?

no contradictions here. The panel is still made of Thin Film Transistors. The difference between TN ( twisted nematic) and IPS (In Plane Switching) is how the crystals react when voltage is applied to let through/block light.

Correct. The same type of the monitor can have different display panel. From a different manufacturer or even different technology. They manipulate these things, depends on the market area.

I don't like the Dell, sort of. I bought one on Black Friday for R2 000 and it's been a mix bag. Imagine quality is top notch for the price but there's imagine blur (or whatever it's called). I clearly see it when I scroll a webpage, and when I play FIFA; the player's cursor has a weird shadow when it first appears. My eyes also feel as if they're strained a lot more than when I use other displays: my Lenovo laptop and another monitor in the house. I think the eye strain is because the screen isn't flicker-free, from what I've read online.

But what are you going to get for that price?

Happy with mine - I use it as a second screen next to a Samsung TV
The blur could be the so-so response time?
Response Time: 6ms (gray to gray)

The response time is set on too fast I think. I have no image blur on mine until I ramp up the response time.

For scrolling a webpage?
That's plenty response time!

Lol, I see this.

I cannot even launch an enquiry to have them look into the matter as it says my order number which needs to be typed into the form to continue does not exist...yet it is copied straight from the e-mail that they sent me on the 5th of January confirming the order:rolleyes:
