Hardware Bargains

I am so fcking frustrated by now.

It was a online purchase so my plan of walking into the shop at tygervalley won't work since they will say not their problem

Can we get back to posting bargains rather than negative feedback? I'm sure there are other threads for that ;)

I think both Takealot and Kalahari must have received an insane amount of orders. Kalahari seems to have upped the dispatch time on their 24 hour items to 48 hours and Takealot posted on Twitter that some orders might be delayed due to volume.

I would recommend everyone to cancel their Pick N Pay order and check with your banking institute if the money has been deducted. If it has you will have to wait about 2 weeks for the refund to be processed.

I went to pick up my order at the store. They gave me the 360 and i said no i ordered the xbox one. I printed an order form earlier. I called for the manager and had a nice conversation with him. He agreed to give me the xbox one console only for that price.

+1 for pick n pay. Dont give up speak to them. And you will come right

I don't think that I would have been able to sleep soundly if I did that.

They made an honest mistake and you abused the system.

Im sure he would not honour the deal if he would lose his job
maybe the guy in charge of the web site listing is the one to blame and get a word or two

Pick'n'Pay have (or at least had) a pretty solid policy of favouring the customer when it comes to incorrect pricing or naming, at least in their physical stores. The manager obviously didn't have to, the law protects them from honouring those kinds of errors, but it seems like he/she was just mirroring the ethos of the company. Alqasaam is happy and probably has some fresh good will towards Pick'n'Pay and the company has taken a relatively tiny financial hit. It seems win win from here.

Always missing out on #BlackFriday bargains? Get an Xbox FREE on Telkom SmartHome Premium or Supreme TOMORROW ONLY! http://bit.ly/1wVREXp

This #BlackFriday, we’re going BIG. Order online & get 5GB FREE on mobile deals & an Xbox on selected SmartHome deals http://bit.ly/1wVREXp

Filled in the online form and nobody called. Actually did it once on Thursday night before the Xbox was showing, and then on Friday morning when I saw the Xbox offer showing on the website I applied again. Still nothing :(

So Telkom actually phoned me today to activate my online order for SmartHome Premium. After spending 35 minutes on the phone, me trying to confirm the free Xbox, 20% for the first 3 months etc. etc., the agent then confirms the monthly subscription of R899 EXCLUDING VAT!!!! WHAT???? No where on the website does it say excluding VAT. Surely that's illegal, false advertising or something and I can report them? Anybody know how and where?

So I told them I need to reconsider and they must phone me back tomorrow, and now I'm thinking I'm not going to take it on principal. After the all the debating was over, I ended up wasting almost an hour of my day just because they didn't tell me up front it was excluding VAT. R899 versus R1024.86 is a big difference to me.
