How do you know that they haven't been saving for months?

People who shop on takealot have money... Especially when it comes to computer hardware they snatch everything their greasy hands can get.. Some buy things unnecessary and remember if you've an ebucks/ffnb card depending on your level you paid half the price for the card

I looked around that site a bit. How is some of their stock so cheap?

I import my graphics card ,so I can sell it for a much cheaper price.

The ssd's are from a local guy that use to sell on bid or buy ,instead of selling there I just buy all his stock directly :)

Man i sometimes wonder how people have so much money left throughout the month, because yesterday they didn't know they were going to drop 5 k just like that lol Usually takes me moooonths to save for something like this

In many cases = Credit Cards

Oh I know the CPU is enough to run the game, i5-2500K is still a very good one. All I want to know is if it's getting a bit long in the tooth; if it will prevent me from getting the most out of the GTX 780.

I'd like to know if it's really worth upgrading to the equivalent Ivybridge/Haswell/Broadwell CPU. My gut says no and that there's probably only a 15% improvement anyway.

My 2500K is still keeping up with my GTX970 so no worries :)

Never buy seagete.. Rather pay extra and buy a WD

Nonsense. Other brands also have problematic models, throughout history. What people need to do is make sure that they buy two drives if they have important data, with a copy on each - not avoid a certain brand altogether.

thought they have the highest failure rate...

I have 2x 2TB and 1x 4TB Seagate 3.5" Externals. A 2TB Seagate Backup Plus which is 6 months old (Same one as Incredible), A 2TB Seagate Expansion which is 16 months old and a 12 Month old Seagate Expansion 4TB.

All of which haven't given me a moment of trouble.

Also have a 14 Month old 3TB Western Digital My Book, which is a warranty replacement for a 3 TB My Book Essential which failed after just 8 months.

Lol, I've had zero issues with my Seagate's and endless issues with my WD's so.... 6 of the one, half a dozen of the other...

OT but I really don't want to start a new thread to ask this...

A mates D drive needs replacing, HP Notebook. I put in a SSD for his primary. Would there be any benefit installing a SSD hybrid 1TB as his D drive? The machine will continue booting off the C drive so no benefit to be gained there.

He would get faster write speeds when he copies stuff to the hybrid drive and shorter load times for games etc, but being a notebook I'd say it's not needed.

Yeah, thought as much. He does 0 gaming and all installed programs by default are installed to the C drive. He's using it primarily for email, excel and internet, bit of teamviewer, iTunes but little else. The space is more for his million and one pictures.

To preserve space on his C drive iTunes media is all installed on the D drive. Also, Outlook loads and backs up to the D drive. So when these 2 programs are reading data off the D drive, a hybrid might improve their performance?

The price difference between a Toshiba 1tb 2.5" and a Seagate ssdhybrid is about R300. Worth the extra?
