It's frustrating to use, but for R99, you can take it apart and use the hardware for something else. It has IR sensors and a camera inside.

I have had one for a while now ([edit] I backed the original Kickstarter) and you get used to it, it is really just a cool toy. It does however have an Oculus rift interface that starts making things interesting. At R99 it is an absolute steal though the are $99 usually...
