Huawei P8 Lite R2269 today at Takealot. Reminds me of when I paid R2000 for the Huawei P1.
 
Anyone know where I can find a decent network cabinet that will house a 48 port switch, a decent router and a UPS?
What size cabinet will I be looking at for those requirements?

Can't help you with sizes but scoop.co.za has cabinets and pricing looks good.

Thanks for link. Pricing does look beautiful.

Need to figure out the size and the UPS that will run those 2 components perfectly for probably... 2 hours.

I went with a 12U from LinkBasic (Scoop sells those) - some pix at the bottom of my blog: https://www.naschenweng.info/2017/01/17/recabling-home-network-ubiquiti-cat6-lessons-learned/

You could get away with a 9U if you pack things tight, but I wanted more space for airflow. You will need fans, unless you keep the door off - I did a cool build with regular 12V PC fans (running at 1200rpm - and super-quiet).

If you do buy it from scoop , just ask them to assemble it for you. It a mission to assemble it your self.

How many KGs at the end of the day? Did you mount it to the wall as well?
I'll probably only use 2 racks, one for the switch and another for the UPS and router.

Definitely will do. Buying a desk from takealot and assembling it myself was a massive pain.
 
The Ebucks store has the Logitech Artemis G633 Headset under the discount section.

Meaning that if you have an ebucks discount level, these will cost you a LOT less. Received mine yesterday and they are beauties :)

I did not mount it to the wall (I actually put it on a pine-work-bench which happened to have the right dimensions/height). I think assembled it weighs about 10-20kg. The wall-mounts looked flimsy. I am sure if you get it pre-assembled, you will pay a ton in shipping (due to the volumetric size). My DIY skills are limited to replacing a light-bulb, and if I can put together a cabinet, a 3yr old will be able to do it (it was actually not too bad once the frame is put together).

You will be able to get away with a 6U - which gives you two shelves. Pro-tip: I could never find a PDU (fancy name for a rack-power-strip) which contained not just 3-prong, but also 2-prong EU plugs - I just took a regular extension cord, rewired the plug to fit into one of those C13/C14 plugs which then plug straight into the UPS.
 
Would I need any other special screws and brackets and stuff in the cabinet to properly mount my Cisco Catalyst 2960-48PST-L or will it fit perfectly onto the shelve?

Just remember, a lot of the small ones are wall mounted swing racks. They won't take the weight of a ups. Mine only takes 30kgs.
