I would like to know if anyone can tell me what sort of customs duties you would pay to bring in a desktop pc as a gift?

Agree! Especially since the PC weighed almost 19 kg! And that as hand luggage, with a carrying strap over his shoulder... and his notebook on the other shoulder! But he flew business class, so storage on the plane was no problem.mooK said:Very nice of your friend to do that for you, it's quite a shlep carrying a whole damn PC while travelling internationally.

I think that custom duties on computers were abolished a year or two ago (cannot find the rate table anywhere?), so technically one should only be charged a handling fee + VAT.
Never!PearlJam said:If they don't want me to pay, should i offer to pay?
