Harmony Remotes - Where to buy

Just received mine now. Definitely old stock as the price tag is faded but the remote still in A-shape!

When I get home I'm going throw my old Compro remote in a lake, that thing is useless.
 
Thought about getting one of these so I have my sony amp, dstv and samsung TV all in one.

Incredible Connection in Eastgate has 2 x 300s going for R129 each. They're on the sale table at the back
 
Gave up trying to program my remote using the Linux tools - they suck hard. Came right using a Windows virtual machine and just set my aux channel to Windows Media Centre SE which works fine with most XBMC controls. I will fiddle a bit and refine some buttons but for now it works hundreds.
 
I use a 300I along with a Flirc receiver to control my XBMC and TV. Setup is pretty painless and the Harmony has a Flirc option on myharmony.com.

Yeah I think it is pretty overpriced for what it is but it works well for me.

You can basically use the Flirc with any old remote, it has software where you can teach it certain buttons... XBMC has a bunch of keyboard shortcuts so within the software you can program additional buttons to another keyboard shortcut e.g. I need to use space bar to show "now playing" (when playing music) I can look at what keys I dont use on the Harmony and then set it to act as space bar.

For scrolling though music I still prefer a mouse though (its just faster to enqueue certain tracks with the mouse) & I still need to program "right click" onto my remote.
 
Got my Harmony 300 from Incredible Atterbury for R129.

Last one.

Setup was very quick and painless (you do need internet).

Work correctly and picked up all my devices.
 
I love these remotes. I have a 300i for the bedroom and a 650 for the lounge.
Only thing i cant figure out is how to program the remote to be able to change the language options for DSTV's 1132 decoder.

Do you have the original dstv remote? If so just reprogram one of the buttons using the ir program method.
 
Does anyone know where to get a USB receiver that will work with XBMC and these remotes?

I bought the remote from PiFactory, but it died - and I'd prefer to get a replacement that works with Harmony remotes without learning.

I think a flirc will work. Not sure though.
