Harmony Remotes - Where to buy

Im using windows atm. what do I need and where do I start? is there a tutorial?
 
Guys, my Harmony 650i was stolen, sorely miss it.

That said, the online myharmony website is very minimalistic to configure the remote, you can actually download software, which is far more advanced, and you don't have to be online any more to update the remote.

Actually went at look at the remotes again.

I actually had the Harmoy 700 (stolen 3 weeks ago), which had the rechargeable batteries, bought for R508 (using ebucks) from onedayonly.co.za
NOW, a new one costs $170 on amanzon's website!!! That is crazy to replace :(

Mine was R400, and two of the buttons don't work anymore. I'd love to upgrade to a new one (like the One) but unfortunately all Harmony remotes seem to have fallen off the face off the earth apart from a few places asking those bat**** crazy prices you mentioned.

Yep, it would appear the only ones you can get in the country at the moment is the 300/i from Incredible. Or if you want to import the 650, which is going to be pricier.

I am considering the 300i as a temp solution, and then maybe importing the 650 from Amazon at $60 which seems reasonable, I think I can live without the built-in rechargeable batteries.

- AmazonGlobal Expedited Shipping (averages 8-16 business days)

My Harmony 700 was a little bit over a year old, but I haven't had a single day's issues with it. In fact, having to go back to using 3 remotes is just a pain.

I was contemplating the 650 too (Amazon), but went for the 300i in the end as I really don't need a remote with a screen.

Well I for one do need it at least with the initial set up. My TV (which I dont feel like replacing) has an akward way of changing between HDMI1/2 and TV, where it is a single button, and you press it multiple times to go down this menu to switch to the input you want. With the original settings the delay on this wasn't long enough and my profiles would always end up mixed between the AMP and the TV. AMP always correct, TV not and thus not in sync. Wit the LCD display the remote picks up this issue and give you the opportunity to correct it with a few tests it let you go through. I have no idea how I would do this without the LCD display, and this delay is a specific one for the TV or that procedure.

But I agree, the 300i seems fine if you don't need what I need.

It's useful for people who want 1 button actions. i.e. watch movie: Switches on TV, AMP (sets correct input) and media player.
