Has everyone deserted iBurst?

Why is the iBurst thread so quiet, has everyone deserted iBurst or is the service running as it should?

They're all waiting for SG to reply or start a new thread but I think he learnt his lesson with the last one he replied or started a thread.

No, it's because the connection is so unstable it's better to browse the forum from our cell phones.

I'm still with iburst... here's my grip:

HTF in the world did that happpen?

also on the 9th of this month I had 2.5gigs next thing I know it jumped to 6.5gigs on the 11th whilst I didn't even have my pc on htf? Something is seriously not right with this monitoring software :(

Guess I'm one of the lucky ones - iBurst just works for me.

That said, I'm about 1km from the local tower, almost LOS from my house. There has been the odd time that it's not been all fine and dandy, but it's ok, at least until Neotel stops uprooting the local roads and offers us decent residential ADSL-type month-to-month accounts.

That, and I'm so busy these days I don't get around to myADSL. Scandalous, I know.

Looks like one of those "shared" accounts.

Get your password changed, and raise the alarm with top people at iBurst. Something's seriously not right there. I've been with them for nearly 4 years now, and that hasn't happened once.

[Disclaimer]If you have a wireless network connected to your terminal, secure that first, and check your logs. It may be your friendly neighbour...[/Disclaimer]

Ya, what he said. First check and secure your wireless network, then have a look at changing your password.

It is not easy in sharing an iBurps account as the accounts are tied to a specific router, but with the right inside contacts you can bypass this... so the probable culprit might be that wireless network of yours.

Or else it's malware/windowsupdates/something else.

Good luck.

nope wireless network is secured for my personal use only... however I've seen there's software that can enter wireless networks if your ssid is broadcasted... will play around this weekend.

now HTF do i connect to a wireless that I can't see the SSID hmmm...

If you know the SSID, you can connect...you must just specify it

Yes I have, I went to a Telskam shop this weekend and applied for an ADSL line. I've had ENOUGH  of iBurps!

And now we wait for an installation date.... :(

I have two desktop modems up for grabs when my ADSL line goes in, I will let them go for R250 a piece. Or if you want to give me some scrap electronics stuffs then you can take them off my hands also
