Any Battlefield fan must remember the wonderful moment Battlefield 4 released. Game crashes every 10 minutes, massive rubber banding with 30ms ping, unplayable bugs...a truly broken game. In fact, every Battlefield release has seen the same sort of issues plaguing it, so this is what I expected.

What I got on Friday was instead a game that ran smoothly, no lag issues, no graphics issues (except once yesterday when I saw a person's but stick out through a wall...but it was once off. Whether shooting baddies from a moving car (or getting shot by baddies while leaning out of said car) to flying choppers, to shotgunning people, I have had only 1 game crash with over 18 hours of play. And the game is fun. I must admit it feels a little less like BF...but it is still a hell of a fun game.

But the big surprise remains...it seems to work as a game is supposed to...at release...and it is BF after all. My hats go off to the devs and EA for doing something I thought was impossible.

I'm trying my best not to get this game til it is a lot cheaper. But a lot of people seem really impressed with it. haha I'm Getting tempted now.

Exactly! No way I'm paying full price for a game that should have been a DLC.

EDIT: No way I'm paying any amount of money for this garbage.

The fact that it doesn't really crash as often makes me very happy. My bf4 crashes at least once every 3-4 maps...it's annoying because then I have to que to get back on the server.

Garbage :wtf:

Yes garbage. The premise doesn't make sense in any kind of way. Cops and Robbers? wtf!? That's why we love Battlefield, because it is exactly that, a Battlefield. They took two steps with this.

EA now trying to do a fast paced COD version, but it is not working for them. The reason why COD is so successful is that they stick to what they know and they're good at it. This game is a complete ripoff.

But each to their own...

To be honest I'd take a buggy BF4 over this. I love BF4, because it captured what the BF franchise is all about.

Purchasing the latest COD releases are like investing into recycled goods.

I also think Hardline is rubbish. I can't imagine the fractured idiotic mind that thought that a cops and robbers game that involves billions of dollars of city destruction would be a good idea. Within minutes the police would be replaced with the military.

The beta was fun only because of the hilarious commentary from the other players. People were really ripping into the game.

Fear not though folks, for Rainbox Six: Siege is on the way.

Based on what I've read here looks like I should skip this edition of Battlefield :(

Nah, the haters are just hating. I agree it's more of BF4.1 than a new battlefield, but on it's own it's still a fun game.

Yes it's faster than BF4, but that's on the small maps. On the larger maps it's still pretty much the same as BF4, just with less tanks.
So you can pick the servers with the large maps, or go for the much faster small maps.

It's justified criticism. Hardline sucks.

Have you played the game (not the beta)?

I've only played the beta and read and watched reviews. Did you even watch the above video? Why must I suffer through Hardline when another person has gone to so much effort to save me the trouble?

I love how some people claim that the final product is totally different to the beta. No it's not. The beta was a few steps away from being a finished product. The problems that I had with Hardline can't be fixed with balancing.

This is the official list of changes made to Hardline after the beta, released by EA:
WEAPON TUNING

One hit kill range reduced for 870 and SPAS
Fire rate reduced for 870
More vertical recoil for 870
Recoil reduced for RO933
Damage reduced for Ro933
Vertical recoil added to M16A3 and M416
Increased P90 spread per shot
Improved Uzi un-aimed fire accuracy
Magnum Ammo OHK range reduced
Magnum Ammo vehicle damage reduced 50%

CLASS BALANCE

Moved G36C to Cops and M416 to criminals
Moved M/45 to cops and UMP to criminals

METAGAME TUNING

Rank progression slowed down by 50%
Repriced Battlepacks to cost more in-game cash
Weapon license increased to 1250 kill
Gold camo increased to 1000 kills

HACKER TUNING

GPS spotting and jamming range for Hacker mode reduced
Overclock timing reduced for Hacker mode

Other than that it's just bug fixes, UI improvements and a few sporadic nerfs. There's no escaping the fact that Hardline is at best a mediocre game, which when compared with the assortment of fantastic available games, means that it sucks and isn't worth your time.
