Considering it's being made by Ubisoft, I have no doubt it will suck.
I've only played the beta and read and watched reviews. Did you even watch the above video? Why must I suffer through Hardline when another person has gone to so much effort to save me the trouble?
I love how some people claim that the final product is totally different to the beta. No it's not. The beta was a few steps away from being a finished product. The problems that I had with Hardline can't be fixed with balancing.
This is the official list of changes made to Hardline after the beta, released by EA:
Other than that it's just bug fixes, UI improvements and a few sporadic nerfs. There's no escaping the fact that Hardline is at best a mediocre game, which when compared with the assortment of fantastic available games, means that it sucks and isn't worth your time.
R700 for a PC game is crazy.
No, it's blocked.
I just think you're going a bit overboard in your criticism. It's seriously not that bad.
R399 from Kalahari (using a voucher).
Their last two Rainbox Six games sucked, so did Far Cry 4 and the last good Splinter Cell game they made was Chaos Theory (maybe Double Agent, at a stretch).
Their new game is likely going to be very generic and filled to the brim with boring filler content.
Nothing since BF2 has ever captured the awesomeness of that release. I dont see myself buying this game and being let down... again.
BF2 was amazing. Last BF imo that was still really good was BC2 such good times, since then they've lowered the bar further and further. Paper tanks and "laser" weapons.
Also known as consolitis. The scourge of modern gaming.
If your entire argument is based on Metacritic scores then it's better that we rather just not speak to each other at all, then. I can formulate opinions on games without resorting to other people's opinions on Metacritic as validation.
I see BF Hardline has a Metacritic score of 72. That's fairly decent so it totally invalidates your arguments that it's a bad game. They're all just unfounded accusations.![]()
Then wait until you can watch it or use a VPN. He sums up everything wrong with Hardline, in a rather irrefutable manner.
Let me simplify it for you. It sucks as a Battlefield game because it has no grand combat, the weapons are extremely limited, vehicular combat is limited and team play in general is rubbish. It also sucks as a cops and robbers game because the robbers are ultra terrorists who cause death and destruction worthy of military intervention. And the single player story was surely written by a child.
Only if you truly don't give a damn about anything and just want a twitch shooter like CoD will you enjoy Hardline.
What's the video going to tell me that I haven't seen myself after actually playing it for many hours?
lol. So these random subjective stuff you don't like makes it suck? And the single player campaign, which you haven't actually played...
I'd agree on weapons and vehicular combat, but team play is exactly the same as the previous BFs. You get knobs who just camp or run around aimlessly and you get guys who make an effort to achieve the map objectives (which require team play). Spent the better part of Saturday in awesome squads.
Any Battlefield fan must remember the wonderful moment Battlefield 4 released. Game crashes every 10 minutes, massive rubber banding with 30ms ping, unplayable bugs...a truly broken game. In fact, every Battlefield release has seen the same sort of issues plaguing it, so this is what I expected.
What I got on Friday was instead a game that ran smoothly, no lag issues, no graphics issues (except once yesterday when I saw a person's but stick out through a wall...but it was once off. Whether shooting baddies from a moving car (or getting shot by baddies while leaning out of said car) to flying choppers, to shotgunning people, I have had only 1 game crash with over 18 hours of play. And the game is fun. I must admit it feels a little less like BF...but it is still a hell of a fun game.
But the big surprise remains...it seems to work as a game is supposed to...at release...and it is BF after all. My hats go off to the devs and EA for doing something I thought was impossible.
You'd understand if you'd watched the video. As I said, I'm not going to put myself through Hardline's hell when someone else has done so for me. Not to mention that the beta was enough Hardline to last me a lifetime.
Why not just play the far superior BF4 if you're into team play and having fun?
