I reckon it is going to be a good few years before someone like Neotel has enough fibre coverage to really make a difference when it comes to deals like this. It takes a long time to build a nationwide network. I don't know if they will ever have the coverage in the really small towns around South Africa to compete on that level with Telkom. I don't know if it is financially viable to spend billions to link up towns with like 10 000 people in them or less. You need to be a monopoly for a few decades to be able to do that. Oh wait...
