Have you ever purchased used PC components? What components did you buy?

Iv'e bought a few over the years, have only had issues once but that was due to lack of research. Not been scammed yet.

Best buy I ever did was buy a R9 290 Oc version that was used for mining for 6 months, but the guy was upgrading so selling his old cards. I bought the card for roughly half the price I could get it for retail and used it in my gaming PC for about a year and a half, before giving it to my little brother, which was using it until about 6 months ago, and now it runs in my media center PC.

Every person I asked an opinion about the card said it will fail in 6 months because it has been mining heavily, but I went ahead anyway and it worked out

Graphics card, CPU, RAM, Hard drive... In fact most of my first PCs were second/third hand growing up. As I'd use pocket money to buy them, was still sporting a 386 in 1994.

When it come too electronics I'd rather spend a bit more to have warranty on the product.

Only 1 problem with ubiquity wireless device thus far.
Rule of thumb, use your brain.

Uhm... replaced an LGA 775 years ago when it became unavailable, had to buy it second-hand. Back in the day, I used to pick up AMD Athlon's on the cheap second-hand. I believe I also once purchased a Pentium 4 3000GHz second-hand.

Actually, I purchased an LGA 775 motherboard and Core 2 Duo E7600 prior to the one mentioned above second-hand.

Then my AMD GPUs, 9800 (modded), X800, HD4870 and HD4890 and my NVidia GPUs, some older models I can't remember and 7950 GT.

Then various cases and memory, oh and a network switch or two.

Everything else and more up to date, brand-new.

To add, I still have every GPU I have ever purchased.

Often! Why not? Nothing depreciates in value quicker than some pc components.

Probably 70% of what I have that switches on was bought used. Can spot a good deal from a mile
