bought some hard drives way back for myself 20gb each iirc. both worked fine as long as I needed them to. more recently bought some 2nd hand graphics cards for friends/family even bought a whole PC from a friend once. never had any issues.

I certainly won't ship a motherboard second hand. I inspect the pins personally before buying.
