They probably downgraded you to be in line with everyone else. You were added to the testing phase which was 640Kbps but the trial is over now so the official speed is 512Kbps

In combination with the above post, there was scheduled service disruption for last night: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=123673
Perhaps the profile update being performed was to give the DSL 4Mbps customers 512Kbps upstream, and in the process, has reset your profile...?
Did you notice the drop today?
