having so much fun

ok on that LED one above we have the following.

IS0 400
F.No 3.2
SHUTTER 1/15
FLASH ON
PHOTO SIZE 1024X768

You need to put the camera on a tripod, up that F.No for a smaller aperture, bring down the ISO and increase the shutter speed.

The slower shutter speed will help you "get the red light moving across the screen"...

Thanks man, I have an old tripod here I wanted to use but the threaded bar piece that I assume goes into the camera was too big. I have also been quite busy to test the other features that I found by reading through the manual but there was one question on my mind when I went through the links that ponder sent me, how do you capture the precise moment the drop does its thing, your timing has to be spot on?

well there are 2 ways. Look for the continues shooting setting on your camera. With a fast shutter and continues shooting( dunno how fast yours can go mine was 3.7fps) u should get it after few tries

With the drops, you use good lighting, a very fast shutter speed and get your timing just right (trial and error).

This is interesting stuff indeed, when I have more time I will be messing about with the camera again to see if I can get some cool shots.

I was messing around with water last night but all I got was wet fingers but anyway at least I am getting the idea on what to do.

So after following this thread I thought I would give water splashes a try.

Guys one question I need to ask is. If I connect my canon via usb to my pc and download my images with the EOS utility. Then when I am done how do I safely disconnect my canon from the pc? or do I just pull the usb out

On a mac you'd want to eject it because of the annoying warning message you get if you dont. :)

Get yourself a card reader.

I think i am gona do that bwanaaa . when I pull the cable out my pc jumps to use 4 out 4 gb of my ram for like 60 sec and then returns normal. and windows 7 does not give me a reject options

I've wondered which is better in terms of wear.
Would popping the memory card in and out eventually kill the contacts in the camera before the USB socket died or visa versa?

One advantage of using a USB cable in terms of wear and tear, is if the USB socket on the camera packed up you'd still be able to transfer your images using a card reader but not the other way around.
