HD surround sound problem

Hi, it seems I should not go away from my HD decoder for more than a week or it breaks down. This time the Dolby Surround stopped working. I just get short snippets of sound coming through. Same story for old recordings that I know worked fine before.

I tested cables and the port on the amp, all working fine. Restarted, reset to factory defaults and reloaded updated software manually from front panel, no change. I even spend the required useless 30min on the phone with Monochoice.

So here I am again, if no one has any advice, it's back to the service centre and goodbye to all the recordings on the decoder AGAIN!

It seems the mean time between failure for the HD PVR is about 3-4 months, this will be my 3rd one since Dec 08.

Any advice?

Thanks.

Sheesh...thats kuk dude. Had all the norm issues before that latest update, but after that...all is fine now. Only gripe is the home theatre sound has to be turned off manually on its separate remote now and sometimes it doesnt sync with the HD PVR system. But a quick function change on it fixes that. So ja...have not had the sound problem you describe. Have had it freeze once since the software update...but thats about it.

This issue I have with the home theatre system not syncing with the pvr is new...so dunno how the update can affect that, but it seems it did. So I assume it must be due to the update done? I dunno?

I have tried everything, I hate to give up all my recordings again, is there anyone with advise?

Everything works perfectly except the Dolby sound, this is true for old recordings that work perfect before. It seems to be after the last software update, but I can not be sure, I was out of town for a few weeks.

Any advise?
