Hi all.

I have one of these Chinese digital to analog 5.1 converters, I bought it on eBay a few years back.
I have connected it to my Explora, via a Toslink Optical cable.

It does work, on channels such as DMX music, everything works fine, however on channels which have a Dolby Digital Audio track, I only get 2 channels, not even 2.1 so the subwoofer isn't working. I discovered that switching the default language, to anything but "English - Original" activates Surround in all it's glory. So currently have the decoder's language set to "Afrikaans", even though the language spoken is still English, at least the 5.1 is working. It's a pain, as it seems to be the censored English soundtrack.

So is there any reason why English - Original isn't working?

Thanks

Errors were reported for years on their forum, since "suspended for enhancement" but that's years ago now...
Anyway, errors like this hardly got the time of day, don't seem important enough to them.

Maybe try making the default English Family and see what then switching to Eng Orig does.
