Installed crysis a couople of days ago and am playing at 1280x1024... medium settings... should i not be able to handle at least high with such a resolution?? Rest of my systems speccs are below in my siggy

sitting with about 30fps and the game sometime laggs for a second or 2...

thanks

what happens if you run it at 1680 x 1050 on medium?

crysis ran fine on my 3850 at 1650 x 1050 on medium

27 fps is i remember

also check and make sure there is no AA in the settings, AA on any setting in crysis will cripple that card

I am running Crysis on 1680 x 1050 with everything on High and it is like a knife through butter ;)

Ja, can't understand that.

My E6420 @ stock,
2GB 667,
ASUS P5NE-SLI,
HIS 4850 @ stock

runs Crysis at Very High on 1280*1024, constant 49 fps...

Something "wong" here...

wtf... done no alterations to the card, nor have I OC'd.... return the product?

also... on the part of the game just after CORE when you are on the ship... the clouds are bright white with pixelated colored borders which flash between the colors... and i mean colors which are BRIGHT green or purple or red ect... heat issues maybe? wth is going on here?

No.

All the latest patches?
SP1 (vista x64)?

Clean the pc (tidy the machine up...), tender loving care, breakfast in bed...

Reformat?

Dunno. Speak to guru beanie...

how hot is your vga card getting?

sounds like your card she overheating :)

put a fan by the side of the box and see if it helps

got a custom profile - fan running at 60% - never goes above 80°C... Thing is, when I first installed it, it could handle crysis nicley on high at this resolution, but then it got all choppy the further into the game i played... Could it be my system is bottlenecked by the RAM? afaik, its pretty cruddy ram, paid like 300 bucks for both sticks...

and my PC is constantly under TLC from me... :) always tidy, defragmented, and updated. all drivers are the latest, SP1 is on it ect ect

It's no secret that those cards run as hot as a night at the big T, sounds to me like it could be overheating.

i do have a VF1000 in my cupboard... could install that however im scared of voiding the warrentee if it were to mysteriously go poof overnight...

I'm going to be contraversial here.

Put the VF1000 on. Something goes wrong put the original back on...

I have seen some custom bioses out that have different speeds and fan speeds...

One guy even had his core running at 720 and mem at 1150 - his fan set at 90%, and apparently his temps were about 80 during Crysis.

The VF900-cu, goes for a steal, does a better job than the stock cooler...
