please help people!!
I need to repair my hard disk. My power pin and ide pins are broken and I need them replaced, plus I need all the data recovered on the drive. Anyone with info can contact me on [email protected]

Dont think its possible to repair those pins, i think u might be screwed sir

true mate once the pins are broken you are busted. u can go to adata recovery place but they are going to rip you another oraface to retrieve the data off the physical disc!

I would take it to an electronics repair centre, someone with the right tools (micro soldering iron etc) will be able to do a temp fix for you to access the drive and remove the data.

It has been done before.

I fixed one of my broken pins once by pushing a staple in and wiggling it around. Somebody on this forum fixed it using a sewing pin, search the forum, there's pictures and everything....

The board can be removed and the connectors desoldered and replaced.

You could also try hacks with pins and stuff to get a temporary working drive.

Where are you? In PE the techie at Eurobyte can fix the pins for you...

I'm in Pretoria. thing is it happened before and I had the HDD repaired. only problem, the place is in Cape Town and I'm not going back there anytime soon. I just want the damn thing to work again.

appreciate the responses though
