so we gotten dstv yesterday

my "flat" in the back yard is to far from the main house
to have the decoder in my place

so they putted both in the main house and ran a cable from the 2 decoders to my place and connected it with a "tv link eye" so i can change channels and see "video"

but its over antenna, and the quality is more than horrible

so googled a bit and seems like hdmi over Ethernet is my best bet (not cheap)

i see some have 2 lan ports,do i use both? so eg 2x 45m cables

also does it transfer audio also?

are there another more cost effective way to get it to me?
and will i still be able to use the "link eye" to change channels

im new to dstv and there setup/ that extenders

any advice will be appreciated

so my

decoder->hdmi->sender box >-----2x45m cables----->reciver->hdmi->tv
+
decoder>cabe>link eye

Get your own decoder and run 2x co-axial cables, 1 from the main decoder and one from the satelite dish. For this you do need LNB with an additional point. But it all really depends on what the current setup is and what decoder they have in the main house.

we have that setted up like this

HD-decoders with extra view

.......................................................dish
........................................................| 20m?
so atm it runs like this Decoder1--------splitter---------decoder2
........................................................| +-
........................................................| 45m
.........................................................TV EYE --tv

they say i am to far to have a decoder in my place, but i cant see how that can be to far, maby for the heartbeat thing?

not sure
