Why would you hate to be an LCD fanboi?

Its envitable anyone is going to take the larger screen?

If I'd been told ; Mr Dolby you can take you 46" LCD - or this 60" plasma for the same price, even I may have bought plasma again

Because a third of the price plasma beats it at sport and probably SD TV?

What the bleep does it have to do with a larger screen?

Whoosh, as per usual you miss the point.

And out of interest - was the LCD this dull, grey black, full on blurring that's made out?

I see TYR admitted its not quite as Postman makes out

+1

Big difference between "it's unwatchable" and "in this case, the plasma is better".

Oh lol. You're truly brilliant. :D

Please quote where I slate high end LCDs. Alternatively, stop being such a nincompoop!

Please explain your post then where you +1 where Dolby has made up things I've supposedly claimed:

Explain it? I thought it was fairly straightforward... I just agree that there's a difference between something being unwatchable and having the plasma be better in a specific situation. Ditto there's a difference between "zomg, LCD is better!" and "in this case, the LCD is better".

The comment had absolutely no reference to anything you said, sheesh...

I have a brilliant idea!

We hire a jumping castle, get two pairs of those funny, giant boxing gloves, and let Dolby and Postman beat the living sheet out of each other! :D

Dolby can be team LCD and Postman team Plasma. The loser must then stfu :p

Haha, it really is fun reading the very animated arguing between you too. :)

You are both kind of similar in a way, and would actually probably be great friends in "real life" :)

Anyway, back to fighting you go :p

No one has claimed what Dolby made up in his post, which you in turn +1ed...

Sheesh, get over yourselves. :D

Well if the fight was about which is better for TV/sport, I could tell you the answer right now (based on fact).

:D:D

I went to game and checked the tv's, plasma teally looks awesome. I'm settling on the 50" samsung, however there are two. One has engine 4 and the other has engine 5... was it engine :/ anyway what is tbe difference?

Probably series 4 (HD Ready) and series 5 (FullHD)

BLo_0p, if you have the budget I would say take the 5 Series with full HD/1080p.

However, if you won't ever need full HD, the 4 Series HD Ready will be perfect.

You might have read that there there is no difference between FHD and HD Ready from 2.5m+ viewing distance. So you could save yourself some cash if you don't need full HD.

why ever bother with FHD then?? :)

It's a general consensus. You certainly don't need to bother if most of your content is less than 1080p. If most of my content was 1080p, I would get a 1080p TV to know I am getting the best.

thats why I didnt bother with full HD... :)

I'll never sit and watch blu rays, and DSTV is 720p anyway...

guess comes down to needs, as always

hey PostmanPot and Dolby

;)

Nah I might as well just go with the fhd then :D thanks guys!
