Headache + now a stiff neck.

Possibly the pillow fight you had with your bedroom may indicate the cause of the neck trauma.

I think I'm going to have to go to the doctor tomorrow. Whether I like it or not, I'm by no means a healthy person at this point :(. I can't look down my neck is so sore/stiff. I'm irritable and feel like ass... Getting flu like flushes, and bouts of vertigo :(.
 
Well the UK currently has an outbreak. It's inclined to worsen very fast - and symptoms are not consistent. Hope you make it through the night if you do have it!

No. I did find a teeny tiny tick on my the other day though. but it was waay to small to carry anything.
 
scotty777, docs do after care. Just call in, have him meet you at hospital or at his offices, check you out to be on the safe side and get it over with.

Meningitis isn't something you **** around with because "Oh, I just have most of the symptoms but I guess it's just something else." Or do you really feel like being up for the latest Darwin Award?

It's fine, my parents just said I'm full of shyte, so I guess it better be something harmless, or else I'm in some deep trouble :p.

*sigh* I really hate that mentality. Then something bad, which could easily have been avoided happens, "Oh noes, whatever could we have done to prevent it?! /act ignorant of decisions we made leading up to this point /throw blame around"

You are at least going to the doctor tomorrow?

Maybe. My parents really really don't like using up the medical aid, and unless it's a death scare, or something that's obviously wrong, then they really don't care :p. In any case, I told my sister and she said just wait until tomorrow (Sunday), if you see a big guy in a hooded trench coat, welding a sickle, then we'll convince my rents to take me :p.

Death wears a trench-coat and wields a sickle these days? In the old days he used to have a cloak and a scythe. Must be adapting to a modern audience. Is he at least still a skeleton?

Well, medical aid is there to be used when you feel you need it. Generally that's why you have it. Otherwise wtf is the point?

Well, those were her words, I'm not going to argue, I'm already in an irritable mood.

Anyway, after my dad had a heart attack-twice, and my mom fell down the stairs, my rents have become a lot less sparing with the medical aid because Discovery wanted to remove us from it... So I guess you can understand. Also, if I start going to the doctor now, and there's nothing wrong, then it's wasted money, or wasted medical aid... Which, say, in the event of a car accident of something else, we might start using it up too soon etc. Also, I need to get my eyes tested + new glasses, so I'm not really keen on further spending money that I shouldn't be?

I'm not arguing. I'm just fascinated with Death having gone Matrix but with a sickle (a much smaller version of a scythe).

My mom had a heart attack the year before last, my father had atrial fibrillation and spent a few nights in hospital while they sorted him out and in the last year all three of us have basically been milking the medical aid for all its worth. I've been in for anxiety, flu and an ear infection. My mother has been in for a bunch of her own issues, my father for his. My parents are both on a cocktail of drugs.

The medical aid (Discovery) hasn't tried removing us--that doesn't make sense, we pay for it, ergo, they get money from us.

At some point I will have to get my wisdom teeth removed as well.

I'm sorry but it's not "wasted" if you feel ill and need to see the doctor. That is what a doctor is there for.

If you're on medical aid, the idea is pretty much to make use of it. It costs you a fortune in the first place so that you have the luxury of using it.

It's fine, I'll see how I am tomorrow. If I'm lucky, it'll blow over, if not, then I'm in a little bit of shyte, but this should still be early into the development. Usually takes a full week before you start going into the red zone with these sort of diseases. In any case, if it's tick bite fever, antibiotics will sort that out, and if it's meningitis, it could be bacterial (which means spam antibiotics) or vital (which is very very seldom fatal... and will blow over). It's not like I've got HIV, or Cancer :p. I also eat properly, and have been exercising, so my immune system should be strong enough to buy me time.
