I seem to be having a headache that really doesn't wanna go away. It started on about Wednesday, where I woke up and had a massive pain on my left temple, behind my left eye... then it faded. But from yesterday, there's been this dull pain all over my head, and it doesn't really wanna go away now... I had the crappest sleep last night, and keep 1/2 waking up (I began to think things in my room were part of the dream, so I threw pillows around and stuff. A Night Terror I think?)

Then today, I've noticed I now have a stiff neck, despite not doing any exercise, and that's what's worrying me now.

My friend had a sore throat, and is now complaining of blinding headaches...

Pinched nerve in neck?

Ask your chemist for a "migraine" kit... Cheap at about R10, it includes a muscle relaxant, painkiller and anti-nausea tablet.

What you are describing are classic symptoms of meningitis, you should get yourself to a doctor ASAP.

That's what I'm worried about. Never had a stiff neck before while having a headache, and that's what got me worried. However, I don't have a habit of visiting a doctor for everything ;). Last time I went was in mid 2009, because my lymph nodes were swollen but painless (so juuuust checking to see if was cancer or not, gotta keep your wits about that stuff :p).

Side note- I don't seem to have photophobia yet, so there's a chance it might not be meningitis :p.

Take some myprodol for the headache :p

I had a stiff neck about 7 years ago and I had something called tortitus. I had to be in a neck brace for a day or two (more as a precaution than anything though).

Don't ask medical advice on an internet forum, if you go and die you are going to make us feel really bad. This friend with blinding headaches, someone you've been in contact with?

If there are two of you with similar symptoms, perhaps it suggests something contagious, go to a doctor I think.

Yes, we share drinks and stuff. (It's a girl. I think she's gotten it worse than me though). I'm more worried about her though, she's going to Portugal next week. I'll see how my symptoms progress though. No reason to fall into a panic and rape the medical aid.

Dude there is a drug for everything, myprodol or a headache kit from the chemist.

Myprodol though is good because it has an anti inflammatory. I cannot understand how people will sit with headaches and not rush to find a drug to sort it out. Dude you have a medical aid for a reason.

Serious problems generally don't just fix themselves. Nothing wrong with making use of your medical aid, that's why you have it.

Sure, the only thing I am vaguely concerned about is the fact that two of you have it is all, but as I said, asking us is a terrible idea. :p

Meh, only reason why I'm worried is because my brother was hospitalized for a couple days because he got meningitis a few years ago :p. It's fine though. I'm sure this is nothing. probably just a bad headache that doesn't wanna go away, and I could have slept funny making my neck stiff :p.
