Headlight flashers to be arrested

Wow fazda you are so clever hey? Do you know me personally? No then why not stfu? :D
As for my comments - its my opinion and that is why I said I would like a lawyers opinion.
But hey go ahead and warn people I could care less either way.

Did I touch a raw nerve there?/:D

As much as I agree with officials being useless at best.. people who flash lights (warning others of traps) should be fined
I don't believe that we need to be warned .. by road signs.. that they are trapping... just obey the law... like it or not.
I don't mind roadblocks, but not when they're set up during peak periods. When I'm trying to get to work then the last thing I need is to be delayed by 30 minutes because of a roadblock. Will the cops jump to our defense if we get into trouble at work because of this? That is effing inconsiderate and I couldn't give a toss about what anyone says about me being a prick for trying to avoid it during peak periods.

I hate it where at roadblocks they will actually keep looking at your car till they actually FIND something wrong with it... Like not having a reflective triangle... then giving you a fine for that when they should rather be fining taxis and such for not having buggerall...

Obstructing the police or or interfering with an officer in the course of his duties is the same thing.
You are obstructing him from carrying out his duties

How? I'm not doing anything to him or his colleagues, they can still continue operating their cameras or road blocks as I'm not interfering in their duties. Your logic is akin to me warning a person not to steal as the police will catch him, that is not obstruction of justice. If you wan't to take it one step further all those warning signs about speed traps would then also be an obstruction of justice. Same goes for http://www.speedtraps.co.za/

I had one w@nker ask me to open the bonnet to check the vehicle serial number, you know, cos a dude in a suit with a laptop on the passenger seat looks like he's stolen the car. He then spent another 10 minutes opening and checking everything else. Let's not even mention the 30 minute delay before actually getting to this part.

I wouldn't be surprised if he checked your oil and water :D:D
You should've just asked him how much he charges to wash your car :D:D:D

Yes.. that would make sense.. with it being peak hour.. but again.. if people are breaking the law if they're late.. ignoring the law.. you deserve the fine.. not?

We wouldn't be late had it not been for the roadblock in the first place.

See I'm not going to get a reasonable response here.. but I guess there are exceptions... but very few ;)

Which part of any of my responses was not reasonable? I've already mentioned that I don't mind road blocks, just not during peak periods when people are trying to get to work.

If they're really interested in catching criminals (as claimed by the minister), then there'd be more visible policing and improved response times. Roadblocks are generally a way to target the general public by checking for outstanding fines.

Firstly... I think they do things differently in Joburg than they do in CT.. like on a different scale.. and the road network is different

Secondly... I agree with you... mostly... guess you're just one of the unlucky ones

If its a common problem.. there should be enough outcry.. and therefore enough complaints should be able to sort it out and change the system
Guess I need to experience it.. but I get what you are saying... and likely would have done the same or more :)
